Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the Year 2018 Charlie Eastwood to take on Pro Class with TF Sport in GT Open Return

Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the Year 2018 Charlie Eastwood will team up with Salih Yoluc once again for the GT Open which will begin on August 8 at Hungaroring

Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of the Year 2018 Charlie Eastwood and Salih Yoluc will team up in TF Sport’s Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT3, to compete in the Pro class of the 2020 International GT Open. Eastwood and Yoluc are World Endurance Championship regulars and have proven themselves to be a tenacious line up. The duo took to the top step of the podium at the 2019 Total 24 Hours of Spa and they have taken three spectacular WEC victories so far this season. Alongside Jonny Adam, Eastwood and Yoluc are currently sitting second in the GTE AM driver’s standings with three races to go, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

TF Sport and Yoluc made their combined GT Open debut in 2016 with previous WEC teammate, Euan Hankey in the #34 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3. The team had a strong season claiming a pole position at Monza, and three podium finishes including two wins at Silverstone and Monza respectively. In contrast to the previous blue and yellow outfit, the team will be running the same striking red livery that adorns this seasons WEC machine.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the revised calendar means the six rounds of GT Open will begin on August 8 at Hungaroring and the series finale will take place at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in November.

Charlie Eastwood - “It’s great to be teamed up with Salih in yet another championship. He is one of the fastest GT AM drivers out there and has proved himself to be ultra-competitive in both GT3 and GTE PRO-AM classes, so it will be great to see him develop further as a driver within the PRO class.

Salih Yoluc - “I am very happy to be coming back to the GT Open championship, it has grown so much since I last competed in 2016. Charlie and I have shared many successes in the last couple of years, so I’m really looking forward to being out on the grid once again.”
