Motorsport Ireland will stream highlights from the 1991 Rally of the Lakes from 7pm Thursday, 2nd of December.

This week’s Motorsport Ireland – RIAC classic video from the RPM Motorsport collection is highlights from the 1991 Rally of the Lakes, the final round of that year’s Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.

Kenny McKinstry and Robbie Philpott were out to make history on the 1991 Rally of the Lakes. Having wrapped up the Irish Tarmac Championship Group N crown earlier in the season, the pair now found themselves as leading title contenders for the overall championship with Bertie Fisher and Bill Connolly both requiring significant luck if the championship scales were to tip in either of their directions. Fisher drove magnificently to win but behind him McKinstry and Philpott did enough to secure second place on the event and complete an unprecedented championship double.

This programme will be available to stream below from 7pm on December 2nd.
