Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin TD, and Minister of State for Sport and Gaeltacht Affairs, Jack Chambers T.D, together with Sport Ireland, have announced almost €80m for the sport sector today.

Some €73.6m in Covid funding is being allocated under five separate streams to help sports organisations to recover and grow post pandemic, support our grassroots network of clubs and local sports partnerships, and ensure people of all ages and abilities return to sport and physical activity. Under these streams Motorsport Ireland have secured €120,000 under scheme two – NGB Resilience Fund, €150,000 under scheme 3 - Club Resilience Fund and €50,000 under scheme five - Resumption of Sport & Physical Activity.

President of Motorsport Ireland John Naylor said; “This fund will enable Motorsport Ireland and our clubs to remain in a confident position to undertake organising events in what continues to be a challenging environment to run sporting events owing to the Covid-19 pandemic".  He thanked Sport Ireland for the funding provided and for their ongoing assistance to Motorsport Ireland, especially in regard to the development of protocols which enabled the safe return of Motorsport since June this year.

Information will soon be sent to all Motorsport Ireland affiliated clubs advising them of the process of applying for releif from the Club Relience Fund.
