Allen is Back on Track!

One of Ireland’s leading single-seater driver, Lucca Allen will be back on track this weekend. The 18-year-old from Co. Cork will travel to Sportsland Sugo, Japan, to compete in Round 4 of the Super Formula Lights Formula 3 Championship with Albirex RT.

After kickstarting his Formula 3 career in 2020 with an impressive brace of top 6 finishes he returned back to Japan in 2021 but missed out on the first three rounds due to the pandemic leaving him with insufficient sponsor budget. “I am over the moon to announce I will be back racing this weekend with Albirex RT in Super Formula lights at Sugo. After months of hard work and meetings it feels great to finally get a deal done and to be getting back behind the wheel. Although this is Allens first visit to that track he is confident he can make good progress with the team, “It will be a challenging weekend, jumping in mid-season and also learning a brand new track, but we have faced these challenges before and always rose above”. The weekend will consist of a qualifying session on the Saturday morning followed by three races.
