Breen and Nagle on the podium in Estonia

Craig Breen and Paul Nagle finished second overall in Estonia in their Hyundai i20 WRC.

The Irish pairing of Craig Breen and Paul Nagle enjoyed a strong performance on WRC Rally Estonia at the weekend, matching their 2020 performance as they claimed second overall for the Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team. The Irish pairing finished just under a minute behind Kalle Rovanpera as the 20 year old Finn became the youngest ever driver to win a WRC event.

Breen, who is sharing Hyundai’s third car with Spaniard Dani Sordo this season, was only making his third outing of 2021 yet despite this he was able to match his best WRC finish, scoring the 4th podium of his WRC career. For his co-driver Paul Nagle, it was his 14th WRC podium.

Speaking after the event, Breen said: "I am happy with how the weekend has gone, and I am satisfied with our performance. We have carried good speed throughout the stages. I’ve enjoyed myself immensely from start to finish. All I need is a bit more time to go that extra one or two percent that I know we have within us."

The next scheduled round of the 2021 World Rally Championship for Breen and Nagle is Rally Croatia, which will take place on Aug 13-15.
