Frank Henehan RIP

Motorsport Ireland would like to express their sympathy on the recent passing of Francis (Frank) Henehan.

Frank was a stalwart of Irish motorsport and a regular marshal at Mondello Park and the Phoenix Park Races. In 1992, he set up Athlone Rally Rescue which has provided rescue services on approximately 1200 events across the country since. There’s little doubt that there are many people alive today thanks to the quick actions of Frank and his team. Frank’s son Fergal and his daughter in law Angela sit on the Motorsport Council. To them, and the extended Henehan and Lennon families we send our deepest condolences.

His funeral will take place on Saturday the 16th of January at the Church of the Risen Christ, Ballybay and can be viewed at this link.

It is the express wish of the family that government restrictions are respected and people do not travel to the funeral.

Donations, if desired, to Pioneer Total Abstinence Association.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
