Motorsport Ireland Statement regarding Tullyallen Kart Club

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Motorsport Ireland as the Sport Ireland recognised NGB for 4 wheel motorsport, have worked tirelessly to ensure that our protocols for the safe return of our permitted motorsport events are fully compliant with all public health guidelines. We are in regular communication with Sport Ireland and all of our protocols are submitted to them for approval in advance of any event taking part so as to ensure the best possible protection for our officials and competitors.

Motorsport Ireland are fully aware that Tullyallen Kart Club are independent of a national governing body and do not come under the same criteria as Motorsport Ireland but, we do sympatise with their committee and competitors that last Sunday’s event was halted.

Motorsport Ireland note that a statement issued by Tullyallen Kart Club referred to an NGB having made a complaint to An Garda Síochána. No such complaint was made by any employee of Motorsport Ireland or indeed, myself.
