Autotests
Definition:
Autotests are the ultimate test of a driver’s pure car handling abilities. By navigating a vehicle through an intricate series of markers, the driver must demonstrate a high degree of spacial awareness and car control at the same time. Cars are often modified for maximum visibility of the wheels to give the driver the best opportunity to make it through tight gaps.
How to get an Autotest Licence
Training
There is no required training before obtaining a Clubman licence for use in Autotest events. It is one of the most easily accessible forms of motorsport for a newcomer to begin their career with.
Medical Requirements
There is no requirement to provide a doctor’s certificate when applying for a Clubman licence. The only time you may be requested to provide a doctor’s certificate is if you answer “Yes” to one of the questions in Section B of the Medical Self-Declaration, or if you were involved in a serious accident before.
Which licence?
Autotests are covered by the Motorsport Ireland Clubman grade licences. This is the lowest grade of licence available, so application for any higher grades will automatically add Clubman National or Clubman Junior to your licence grades.

Regulations
While accessible in nature, Autotests are held to strict regulations in accordance with Appendix 90 and 91 of the Motorsport Ireland Yearbook.
We recommend reading these sections of the yearbook and attending an event in person before applying for a licence.
