McCafferty’s Bars Donegal Forestry Rally 2025 - Press Release Two

2019 Donegal Forestry Winners Cathan McCourt & Barry McNulty

As plans are finalised for the McCafferty’s Bars-supported Donegal Forestry Rally, scheduled for Sunday, February 16th, the organizing team is preparing for an exciting kickoff to the Sligo Pallets Irish Forestry Championship.

With just over three weeks until the event, Johnny Baird, the Clerk of the Course, is pleased with the response from crews eager to participate, with entries coming in from across Ireland and even from America, giving the entry list a truly international vibe. Numbers are already closing in on the maximum permitted entry of 110 starters, so any competitors hoping to start the event get your entries in now.

Baird expressed his gratitude toward McCafferty’s Bars for their support of this year’s rally. The Donegal Town Bar will serve as the rally's finish location. Additionally, they will host a special Rally Appreciation Night on Friday, February 7th, where Declan Boyle and his team will honour the volunteers who assist at events nationwide. During this special evening, the Donegal Motor Club will launch the Forestry Rally, announce the entry list, and showcase a selection of rally cars with several rally crews. Everyone is welcome to join the celebration.

On Sunday, February 16th, crews will gather in Donegal Town, with the service area at the Donegal Mart. This site provides an excellent space for crews and their teams to prepare vehicles for the challenges ahead. The rally will feature three stages, which will be repeated, in the Cavangarden and Pettigo area. The forest tracks are in fantastic condition, thanks to the hard work of Johnny and his team, who collaborated with Coillte to ensure the stages are in the best possible shape.

More information about what promises to be an inspiring event will be announced in the coming weeks.
