McErlean set for Rally1 debut at Rallye Monte Carlo
Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy driver Josh McErlean starts his first season in the World Rally Championship top-flight at Rallye Monte Carlo next weekend.

Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy driver Josh McErlean will join the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team in 2025, driving a Ford Puma Rally1 in the FIA World Rally Championship, Co-driven by fellow Academy member Eoin Treacy.

A trio of Group A Subaru Imprezas battled it out on this event with Derek McGarrity having to contend with the recently crowned British National Rally Champion Kenny McKinstry and former Belgian and European Rally Champion, Patrick Snijers. McKinstry proved unstoppable, taking a comfortable win ahead of McGarrity as Snijers slipped off the road. A third place finish for Denis Biggerstaff was enough to secure the 1999 Northern Ireland Rally Championship in his Metro 6R4.
